Welcome to 5th grade!
We have an exciting year planned!
Reading
Students should be reading 90+ minutes outside of school. This should be recorded in their reading logs. Reading logs are turned in on Friday mornings for a grade. Encourage you student to read to younger siblings, to grandparents, and to you! It helps their fluency and it's fun.
There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.

Scientific Spelling
Your student will be learning to spell using a system designed to make them 'lifelong' spellers. We use Scientific Spelling. We teach spelling rules and methods that students can use with their writing and reading. No more memorizing lists and forgetting them after the test!
Social Studies
This year, we will be studying U. S. history.
